Two research projects examining the evolving role of interpretation in an increasingly technology-driven world.
One project explored the history and rapid advancement of AI translation tools, analyzing their growing use in journalism, health care and other high-stakes communication settings, while questioning the ethical and linguistic limitations of machine translation.
The second project focused on gender dynamics within interpretation, examining how gender presentation, vocal perception and societal expectations can influence interpreter credibility, communication styles and client interactions. Together, the projects reflect a broader interest in language accessibility, communication ethics and the human factors that shape interpretation and cross-cultural understanding.
